FGV maintained its leadership position in Latin American for the seventh consecutive year.
Fundação Getulio Vargas has reached its best ranking ever among the world’s think tanks. The institution moved up from 18th to 13th in the 2015 Global Go To Think Tanks Index Report, published by the University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday, January 27. FGV maintained its leadership position in Latin American for the seventh consecutive year from its eight years presence in the ranking.
FGV was nominated in 23 of the 50 categories – three more than in 2014 –, and achieved a higher ranking in nine of those, such as Domestic Economic Policy, Social Policies, Best Use of the Internet and Best Use of Social Networks.
The index, which has been prepared by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program of the University of Pennsylvania since 2008, analyzes approximately 7,000 think tanks from around the world. The full report will be available soon on the Global Go To Think Tank Index website by the University of Pennsylvania.
About Think Tanks
Think tanks are organizations that conduct research, produce and disseminate knowledge on and engage with strategic themes – often in fields that do not have any space for reflection or innovation within traditional institutions such as governments, trade associations, businesses or universities.
The role of these centers is to analyze public policies, solve their impasses, find solutions, and promote the advancement of knowledge and debate within society
